What is is Sacred Correspondence?

I have come to realize that the unique way I process and thread together experience can be offered in service to others. Since the images and words that appear as I walk through this world are what I need --- they might, at times, also be what someone else needs.

I've long been interested in the connection between creativity, motion, intention, and healing. I am always walking through the world with my own metaphorical process; now I wish to walk holding yours.

How does it work?

I invite you to think about the central issues or themes present in your life at this general time. When you're clear on what they are (but still wanting more clarity or outside perspective) write me a Sacred Correspondence via the contact form. Please put "Sacred Correspondence" and your name in the title field. I will receive your letter, walk with your process for up to 72 hours, and then respond with a combination of photographs and words. You should hear back from me within five days of writing your original letter.

Sacred Correspondence is offered by donation. At the bottom of this page is a donation link. At the time of your letter, please donate what you feel to be an appropriate amount. I will likely be spending an hour or two walking with your words, looking at the world through the lens they present, and then another hour or so crafting your letter. I liken this service to therapy or bodywork, so those are useful comparables when considering your donation. However, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

If you'd like to continue in an ongoing process with me, you can request another Sacred Correspondence at any time; again, getting clear about what you'd like me to address in the next round. If it's a one-time process for you but you simply want to follow up by writing me your thoughts, that's fine too.

A Sample Sacred Correspondence

On July 29, 2013, "S." wrote:

Dear Nora,

Today was not flow-y. I had a headache most of the day and I felt like I was going in slow motion with everything I did. I did take a two hour nap, cook a giant stir fry, and have a couple of phone conversations. I also connected with some people about a possible new living situation. Other than that, I spent time online and ended up getting super inspired by one girl in particular, someone I used to know who happens to have the same birthday as me. We're kind of like alternate-dimension versions of each other... but she's "doing" much more than me.

So these are some of the ideas floating around my world lately. I was going to write a proper letter, but these keywords are going to have to do. Like I said, today felt "off." You can pick certain ones or touch on any combination or all of them.

My words:

Being and Doing.

Hesitancy.

Choosing a Path.

Taking Detours (on "accident" & "on purpose").

Being and Non-Doing.

Flow and Non-Flow.

Cultivating Power.

Achieving Balance.
